A few days ago, I had decided that I needed to buy a new mobile phone, my old one too tired to work anymore. So I marched off to the nearest store thinking it to be a few minutes job. But to my shock and surprise, buying a gun would have been easier. The fact of the matter is that the huge variety of mobile phones that lay before me was simply mind – bogling! To add to this, I am not much of a gadget freak so I was not aware of the latest features that come bundled with them. Cut throat competition between manufacturers and mobile phone companies is leading to a new model being released almost every day and as a result, every showroom has ten different models with the same features. Therefore, clearing through the clutter can be a difficult task. A simple cell phone is not just a device to talk with; it usually an advanced music player, large megapixel camera, practically a mini computer. But this is not same with every phone – two out of seven are generally useless pieces of junk which only boast of the many features. Here are a few tips which make it easier for you to buy a mobile phone. The first step is to identify your needs. Do you want a phone to remember all your business contacts, appointments, and meetings and memos or is it a phone that you require for entertainment? Without a doubt, a phone only for voice calls is relatively easy to find but when you have the lucrative option of getting much more at the same cost, why not buy a mobile phone which offers much more? It would be a good idea to list all the features you are looking for in the little gadget, note the price range and then go on the much feared mobile hunt. In most cases, the store manager or attendant of a decent store will be able to pinpoint your selection to the most appropriate design, but to ensure that you make no mistake, reading reviews about the recent mobile phones helps. These reviews usually base their ratings on the overall consumer experience through surveys and studies. Naturally, these reviewers try to offer the best ratings so as to maintain a decent readership. The internet, magazines and newspapers – a mobile phone review is always near you. By this time, you will have noticed that there are plenty of sources all around you which will help you on the way to your prized possession. A few features that you personally need to watch out for before the buy are – a good battery life, nice color resolution, good picture quality (in a camera phone) and sound quality in one that sports a music player phone.
