In an examination , a student scores 4 marks for every correct answer and loses 1 mark for every wrong answer.if he attempts all 75 questions and secures 125 marks , whats the number of questions he attempts correctly ?

easy answer.. lol 40 x 4 =160
the rest of the question is 35 so they are wrong ---->>> 160-35 =125..
so he answere 40 right answer

Right answer m4 but I prefer the systematic solution

Let the number of questions he attempted correctly be x .
So the number of questions he answered wrongly = (75-x)

And from the question. 4*x + (-1) * (75-x) = 125
And solving that , we get x=40 !

Thank God I still remember my maths !!
