Default math problem with time and distance
Town X is 1000 miles from town Y

If train A,move from town X to town Y with speed of 60 miles/hour, and 1 hour later train B move from town Y to town X with speed of 120 mile per hour.

When the train meet and pass each other somewhere in the middle, which train is closer to town X ?

Explain your answer.

Well, this is one minutes question. As you say that "When the train meet and pass each other somewhere in the middle" mean there are at the ssame position. So, there are same distance from Town X

When the train meet = they are in the same spot.
A = B
So. X -> A = X -> B

After 1 hr, the distance between trains A and B is 940 miles because Train A moves 60 miles nearer towards town Y.

Since they meet and pass each other, both trains A and B will be the same distance away from town X.

When they are meeting the distance is same.
But because it is writen 'pass ach other' then train B must pass train A, then train B is closer

One very important thing in Maths is read the question carefully. Yes, you still can get the answer if you work in proper way, but it will waste your time

you question about when, it mean time not just word statement, distance will same.
So it think you mean 2 hr after train X go or 1 hr after train Y go, right ? that why they have same distance

yes if train b move one hour later with 120m/h,
it wont be meet at the middle of town x and town y
