She is 6, and the other one is 3.
So 3 years ago she was twice as old. I think that's the right answer anyway (: |

X=2Y
X-3=3(Y-3) Therefore 2y-3=3y-9, y=6 Then X=12 Reena is 12 years old now and sunita is 6 years old now |

3 years ago - R:S = 3:1 (Difference is 2 units) Now - R:S = 2:1 (difference is 1 unit) Since age difference is always the same, I multiply the ratio now by 2 to make the difference the same. Now - R:S = 4:2 (difference is 2 unit) As you can see, the ratio of R and S have each increased by 1 unit (from 3 years ago to Now) This indicates 1 unit - 3 years. Since R = 4 units, her age is 4X3=12. |

Reena is twice as old as sunita. (R = 2 x S)
Three years ago , she was three times as old as sunita. (R - 3 = 3 (S - 3) replace R wit S 2S - 3 = 3S -9 -3 + 9 = 3S - 2S 6 = S so Sunita is 6 years old and Reena is 12 years old
