I think it isn't which is best, but which is you need for your purpose. If you want to take scholarships your foundation will ask for either IELTS or TOEFL.

I think IELTS is better than TOEFL,because the student who want to enter austraila university should get the IELTS certificate instead of TOEFL certificate from 1 Jul on,so I think IELTS is better.

No me,no fun.Know me,know fun.

Both IELTS and TOEFL have its unique importance. IELTS a bit complicated than TOEFL, it coverage speaking and writing, which TOEFL don't have (CMIIW). It's more difficult to learn IELTS because it's not your mother tongue.
Also TOEFL used wide in US, and IELTS popular in AUS.

It all depends on the entrance requirement of the course that you are going to take.
Took IELTS about 2 years ago to meet requirement for an Australian bachelor programme.
As for IELTS, i believe the certification only last for 2 years as when i took it.
And you won't need it anymore after getting your bachelor degree anyway.

Smile I think both are ok

I don't know which one is better, for me both are same... However, I think IELTS is more used in the world than TOFEL, since it's welcome in Australia, Europe, and other countries... I personally have IELTS score, but no mark in TOFEL, even though I still can use this IELTS score for entering America, hehe... But I do like American accent more, hehe...
