I'm getting confused, what exactly past of the past means??? past just past right??? please explain it Klaudine.

[he told me so] is an action in the past --> simple past tense
[i've never known that ___] is beyond the past action --> present perfect tense

so the [i've never known___] is done before the [he told me] so it must be past perfect tense

well, I used to have a private english course when I was younger but I didn't know that my english was good. I still need to learn a lot. I used to be an English teacher in a study center too as a course teacher, but I was responsible on teaching on the reading comprehensive, so that actually I am weak at grammar and vocabulary

- if there are any mistakes

OR:

- if any mistakes have been made

but not both.

ups I made a mistake either I think I should write "let me know if there is any mistake I've been made". By the way alnitak, as far as I know any should be followed by "is" not "are" but I'm not really sure though. Anyone can help me about this matter?

I guess it depends on the way you are using it. I think in this case is used like an adjective so the verb follows the subject that is "mistakes".

English is not my mother language,and i don't very excellent at english,so that i can not point out where you made mistake,I think there also many mistakes in my writing,but if other people could understand,that's not very important.this is my opinion.what do you think?

Well but in sometimes I face any occasion where I have to write or speak perfect English that's why I keep improving my English skill. Also I found able to speak perfect English bring more benefit than bad English

Well, I don't agree. But not because I think everyone should talk with perfect grammar but because I think that it's good to learn from our mistakes so we can improve our knowledge.

I always keep wondering also about this kind of things in my own language because simply I'm curious about learning things but that doesn't mean that I want everyone to talk like that.

I agree that the level is not important as long as other people can understand what you are saying but I think it's also important trying to improve it because when you don't know the language so well sometimes it could also be difficult to explain what you want to say.
