i think there's a slight difference between these two, "must" shows more urgency compared to "have to". check below:

Quote:
"Must" usually gives off more of a feeling of urgency.

"I must get to the bus stop by 3:00 everyday."

"Have to" has somewhat of a looser connotation.

"I have to do a lot of work today."

You could get away with using them interchangeably, but I'd say that "must" sounds more urgent to me.

so actually there's no difference between those two words right just a matter of importance. I see, by the way past participle from "have to" is "had to" right? what about "must"? does the word has past participle?

no must is not a verb, therefore it doesn't have past principle. only verbs have past participle. but it does have past form.

"have to" is not a verb either. it doesn't have past principle, it only has past form.

this way, both words are same.

my understanding is that
If you have to do something,it depends on you,you should make the desicion, but if you must to do something,it is not up to you,you have no choice.just my personal opinion.

No me,no fun.Know me,know fun.

As I know, ‘have to’ and ‘must’ has the same meaning..
However one of them is used to say something that has been planed before and the other is to say something as a sudden decision. If I am not mistaken, “must” is for the first one and “have to” is for the sudden decision...

I think must is something that you are supposed to do with some common reason... And have to is something you are request to do, no matter you personally want to do it or not, you have no choice but do it...
