for me first the basics like microsoft word, excel , then html idea is a must.after that you can learn c language and java.

now my university gives c++ for their freshmen and giving java instead of vb. And i'm going to get java... is it hard to learn??

i don't think microsoft application have anything to do with the language we learn, cause it just an application and we just use it, while with language you're not just use it but you create something with it


it's not that hard to learn. there're so much references for java to learn in internet (but yeah it can be the downside in learning coz mostly you will find it hard which one you must follow - it happened to me lol -)

Well guys, since I wasn't that smart about computer language, how about share us your knowledge about it.... what is the hard and easy part learning it.

mmm, from my point of view the hardest part when you learn how to program is the algorithm, u need to define logic within your application. while for the language you choose i think u just need to familiar with the basic syntax, and once you familiar with it ,it's no problem to learn the advance side (but even though i said it, it still hard to me to understand Basic language -maybe it is because i learn C first.. )

C and C++ are the first things that are recommended for learning programming. They are the base of a lot of languages and it becomes easier to learn other languages after you know these..
From a modern perspective Java is a very good option as well. It has a number of benefits, wide utility and the syntax is pretty similar to C++ as well..

for basic, learn pascal then c, most of the programming language based from pascal & c..

I think the answer may vary for each person. For example for someone who has strong logic background he/she will find that algorithm much easier than someone who has weak logic background.
