Find out how you can clear debt without it costing you any more money.

If you are looking for help because you want to clear debt, you may be frustrated at the lack of help available. Everyone is quick to offer guidance and that is usually at a price. What you need to do when you want to clear debt is find a non profit organisation that can help and assist you to clear debt.

A non profit clear debt association will be able to give you the much need advice that is not only independent, but also professional and caring.

If you want to clear debt for good there are a few things you will need to do before you start the process of going down the clear debt road. The first thing you need to do is to be honest with yourself. Don’t bury your head in the sand as so many of us do when it comes to debt problems, but instead you need to embrace what has happened and say: ‘Yes, I need help to clear debt.’

Once you know you have a debt problem and you need help to clear debt it will be a much easier journey than if you tried to avoid all of the problems you are facing. Once you know what to expect from wanting to clear debt, you will find it not only easier, but also relieving.

The next thing, once you have accepted you need help to clear debt, is to find out exactly what you owe and to whom. You need to make a list of all the companies and people you owe money to and that you need to clear debt with. This could be a loan from the bank, a mortgage, a catalogue bill, a store card, a credit card, friends and family, or any other type of debt.

After you have written down all the companies and people you need to clear debt with you need to take the step of finding out exactly how much you owe to them all. This may not be an easy process as sometimes you don’t realise how much debt you have. You may have to find out all the original agreements or even ring the companies and lenders up to find out how much it would cost to clear debt with them. They may charge an early settlement fee or they may have added more money to the total you owe because of defaults and interest on missed payments.

Once you do this, you can then take the information to a non profit clear debt organisation and let them contact the lenders to arrange a plan to either pay it back or clear debt off completely. Be warned, taking this step you may have to declare bankruptcy if there is no possible way to pay the debt back. This is the last case scenario and may not have to happen. Even if you do have to clear debt by claiming bankruptcy you can still build your credit and your life back again. After you have managed to clear debt, you can look at it as a fresh start to a new financially steady life.
