That is interesting statistics on the national long distance calls. I tend to believe it as UK is not a huge country in terms of the area. Moreover, when you make personal calls within the country, it is highly likely that your people are located somewhere near where you are. But when it comes to bigger countries like US, Canada, China or India, the national calls are as good as international calls as they are usually made between people who are 1000 or 2000 miles apart.
