      For most people, cellular phones are a part of life; in fact, many folks wonder just how they got along without them all those years.  Mobile phones are incredibly practical, as they can help us get help in an emergency, keep track of our teenagers, make last-minute plans, and just help us keep up with each other better.  Phones are becoming more than just phones, as well.  The new mobile phones that keep coming out do all sorts of things that were science fiction just a few years ago.

      The new mobile phones can send text messages, play music, schedule appointments, wake us up in the morning, remind us of important deadlines, serve as a portable phone book, connect us to the Internet, and all sorts of things that seemed unimaginable back in the 1980’s when those new mobile phones were the size of a small suitcase and only the wealthy had them.

      Some of the new mobile phones that have all kinds of additional capabilities are the iPhone, and now the even newer version of the iPhone, the iPhone 3G.  The iPhone 3G offers the ability to send a text message that will help you “fill in the blanks” by giving suggestions as you use the cool keyboard, the ability to listen to tunes or watch video on a pretty good sized screen, and do just about all the stuff you want to on the Internet.  The 3G speed lets you do it all really fast, too.

      In an effort to stay competitive with one another, other companies are offering similar features on their new mobile phones.  LG, the company that proclaims life is good, brings us the gorgeous Vu and VuTV.  Stylish and just plain handsome, you almost don’t need jewellery; just go ahead and accessorize with this charmer of a phone that also features 3G speed, cool messaging features, searching and all kinds of stuff on the World Wide Web, and even the ability to watch TV (with the CU920 model).

      On the opposite side of the new mobile phone war is the idea that simple is best.  Some people, usually the elder folks in the crowd, really don’t care about doing everything under the sun.  They just want a phone.  You know a device that rings and allows you to ring up others?  So, now with all the technological toys available on the new mobile phones, some companies are pushing the ease-of-use concept, and there are some new mobile phones that are getting bigger instead of smaller so that the numbers are really easy to see and dial.

      Whichever way you choose to go when deciding on your new mobile phone – very toy-filled, some gadgets, or very few features, there is a phone out there to suit your personal and unique needs.  The new mobile phones come in just about every size, shape, and possible colour, even my favourite “colour” – chocolate.  Add a little pink to that one and get “chocolate strawberry.”  Wow, can it get yummier than that?
